12 Rectory Lane Woodland & Verges
Immediately south of Rectory Green there is signpost pointing the way into a fragment of ancient woodland. Take the right hand fork and the path runs south parallel to the lane. The copse is dominated by large ash trees some festooned in ivy, sycamore and occasional oak trees with an understory of hawthorn, blackthorn, hornbeam and sycamore saplings. There is a ground cover of ferns, ivy, dogmercury and bramble.
The woodland path re-joins Rectory Lane. In spring their are patches of wild garlic and bluebells in verge. In summer grasses, nettle, buttercup and bramble are present.
