Explore miles of woodland, grassland and farmland and discover native wildlife and their habitats in the beautiful Mole Valley & North Downs
Our Story
We live in a special place for people and nature. In 2026 Re-Betchworth's 4Bs Biodiversity Initiative, with the help of volunteers from the 4Bs Nature Conservation Group, is establishing a Nature Trail connecting the parishes of Betchworth and Buckland.
The trail has four purposes:
to encourage people to walk in, enjoy and connect with nature
to encourage learning about the wildlife that lives along the trail and develop knowledge about biodiversity
to focus efforts on habitat conservation and creation and biodiversity enhancement.
and to show that nature transcends parish boundaries and connects communities

Invitation to help develop knowledge of our trail
The Betchworth & Buckland Nature Trail is supported by grants from Betchworth Parish Council, Betchworth & Buckland Society and Surrey County Council's 'Your Councillor Community Fund. Re-Betchworth Charity is grateful for this financial support.
We are also grateful to aLyne Ecology for their professional support in enabling us to create a biodiversity database to underpin the nature trail and team member Laura Belton who created and maintains the database.
We thank the many members of our community, particular those who contribute to the 4Bs Nature Group and 4Bs Nature Conservation Group who have inspired us to create the trail.

The nature trail is primarily for our own community. We invite you to help develop the knowledge to underpin the trail and welcome interesting sightings of plant and animal wildlife that can be included in our species database. Photographs are particularly valuable. Please send your sightings to 4bnaturegroup@gmail.com
